Delivering care to more than 500,000 women and children. Our institutions provide specialized care for women and babies. Every year, more than 500,000 women and children visit us as inpatients or outpatients. In addition, one-third of all couples in Singapore choose to deliver their babies at our institutions. This represents unparalleled exposure for you in the field.

Largest O&G Cluster in Singapore
As the largest O&G cluster in Singapore, SingHealth is a leading training center for the field of O&G both locally and internationally. Our hospitals, KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH) and Singapore General Hospital (SGH), are major medical facilities which have successfully nurtured generations of obstetricians and gynecologists in Singapore, who are the leaders in healthcare and the medical community today.

Wide Exposure to Extensive O&G Case-mix
Be exposed to an extensive range of O&G case mix every day at SingHealth; ranging from routine cases to rare and complex entities. On a day to day basis, you will have the opportunity to see and manage pathology that other residents will only read about in textbooks. Over 500,000 women and children visit us per year, and our institutions are the referral centers for the nation of Singapore. In addition, one-third of all couples in Singapore choose to deliver their babies at our institutions.

Faculty of O&G Experts
The SingHealth O&G Residency Program has an outstanding pool of faculty with many years of experience in O&G as well as in teaching and medical education. They are highly committed to imparting their skills to aspiring physicians and have proven track record of mentoring and guiding young doctors.

The Curriculum

O&G rotations take place mainly at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital and Singapore General Hospital. Our hospitals have diverse patient populations that offer you well-rounded training perspectives in O&G.

SAMPLE ROTATION CHART

Clinician-Scientist Track
Residents who wish to develop themselves in the area of clinical research have the opportunity to pursue research through the Clinician-Scientist Track. As O&G is an Academic Clinical Program with four established career tracks for doctors (clinician-practitioner, clinician-investigator, clinician-educator and clinician-administrator), residents can pursue a clinician-investigator career should they have the aptitude for research.

Career Prospects
As the largest healthcare service provider in Singapore, O&G Residents can look forward to career opportunities and job rotations at many SingHealth institutions, and take their professional development to the next level through our comprehensive training and development initiatives.
