About the Programme

The SingHealth Endocrinology Senior Residency Programme aims to provide you with the advanced training and experience you need to become a consultant endocrinologist. 

You will be given the opportunity to diagnose and manage the full spectrum of patients with endocrine disorders. These include: diabetes mellitus, obesity, osteoporosis and disorders of the pituitary, thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal glands and gonads, and many more. 

You will also get to participate in consultative activities on the inpatient services and be exposed to extensive outpatient experience in endocrinology on the programme.

SingHealth Medical Senior Residency in Endocrinology aims to provide you with the advanced training and experienced needed in this field. This is a three-year structured programme with two training sites. Our primary training site in Singapore General Hospital (SGH) and Changi General Hospital (CGH) will offer you a dynamic training environment in all aspects of Endocrinology. In our programme, you will gain exposure to a broad spectrum of endocrine conditions and treatments. Our comprehensive and academic-based programme also ensures a strong foundation for you in fundaments of Clinical Endocrinology and diabetes care.

Your Career Prospects & Development

The SingHealth Endocrinology Senior Residency Programme prepares you for an independent career in Clinical Endocrinology.

Upon completion of the programme, you will be promoted to an Associate Consultant in one of the restructured hospitals. You will be expected to conduct ambulatory clinics in the outpatient setting and run inpatient services as the Consultant Endocrinologist, as well as lead a team of senior Residents, Residents and medical students in the ward rounds.

You can also expect to be involved in the teaching programme of your department as Residents and medical students rotate through your department. You may also choose to pursue a research career in the field of Endocrinology.
