About the Programme

The primary educational goal of our well-rounded and comprehensive Anaesthesiology Residency Programme is to provide you with the opportunity to develop to the maximum of your ability. Residents are exposed to a diverse range of clinical experience through structured subspecialty rotations that allow flexibility to meet individual goals and objectives.

Throughout your training, you will learn from and alongside seniors and mentors as you function as an invaluable member of the healthcare team. With timely supervision, nurturing mentors and an emphasis on lifelong learning, you will be equipped with the skills and values expected of a well-balanced, knowledgeable and compassionate consultant.

You will find yourself well-prepared for the Master of Medicine (Anaesthesiology) examinations through the conduct of intensive didactic curriculum, mock objective structured clinical examinations (OSCEs) and written examinations.

Your Career Prospects & Development

Exciting career options are available the moment you complete your Residency as an Associate Consultant. As a newly promoted specialist, seize the opportunity to train in your field of subspecialisation through cutting-edge international fellowship programmes. Institutional and academic appointments are available for our highly qualified consultants as they pursue their careers along clinical, research, educational or leadership tracks.

A Wealth of Research Opportunities
SingHealth possesses a strong research culture, further strengthened by an exciting collaboration with Duke-NUS and the Academic Medicine Research Institute. This collaboration aims to further develop an academic milieu for new discoveries, which ultimately leads to improved patient care.

You will get to participate in research with experienced mentors who will provide expert guidance in designing and conducting research protocols of your own in a supportive environment. Above all, you will join the ranks of Residents who have gained opportunities to present their research at various conferences.
